Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University
As Dean of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, my biggest project is planning for a theatre for the school. Both the Music Conservatory and Theatre Conservatory need a better theater for their performances. This will be a major addition to the school, and will involve a major fundraising effort.
What was your first job, and how did it shape your life?
Being part owner and program director of a classical music radio station from 1963-1978 in Syracuse, NY. It helped me develop management skills and business sensibilities.
What keeps you awake at night?
Fundraising responsibilities – where will I be able to find the money to achieve the projects that I believe are needed by my schools.
When do you feel most free?
I feel most free when I am listening to great music.
What is your view on money?
Money is a means for achieving important personal or professional goals, not an end in itself.
What is an extraordinary place you have recently traveled to?
We recently cruised through the Panama Canal – a great experience.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
The first time I was in a Some don’t know that I am an experienced Chinese cook. Most don’t know that I also love sports.
