Nonprofit Executive Search at Koya leadership Partners
MBA Candidate 2016, University of Chicago, Booth School of Business
I recently moved back to Chicago, a city I’ve called home for the last 5 years, after graduating from Harvard with my master’s in education and technology. I landed my dream job in executive search at Koya where we work exclusively with nonprofit clients. For example, our firm recently placed the President & Director of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2016, I look forward to graduating from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with my MBA. Professionally, I’m excited to expand the diversity of nonprofit talent in Chicago by recruiting more Asian American into top leadership roles. I also hope to engage Asian Americans to become more citvically involved.
What books are currently on your bedside table?
Mostly business books. I also like to read fun books by comedian Mindy Kaling.
When do you feel most free?
I feel most free when I’m paddle-boarding in in Newport Beach California and Bali or on an ATV exploring an exotic city like Santorini.
What was the last gift you received?
My brother and I have not always been close due to geographic distance. For the last few years, he has been practicing law in Singapore. He is currently at Columbia University getting his master of law. He and I have become much closer as a result. This is the best present I’ve received recently.
What is your view on money?
Money gives you choices. It’s still up to you to make the right choices to use it to do good.
What is an extraordinary place you have recently traveled to?
I recently spent two weeks in Italy and Greece. I loved driving in the countryside of Italy and visiting black, white and red sand beaches in Santorini.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
I went to high school in three different countries, studied abroad twice in college and graduated early from college so I can travel. Traveling and being on the go is part of my DNA.
