Katherine KUNG 龚嘉琳
Katherine Kung, originally from Hong Kong, created her namesake brand according to Eastern tradition, which dictates that the family name precedes the given name. Kung moved to the United States in her teens and went on to study Fine Arts and Fashion Design at School of Visual Arts and Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Her skills and knowledge were further cultivated through apprenticeships at several design houses such as Reem Acra and most notably and formatively Oscar de la Renta. In 2013, Katherine founded KUNG KATHERINE, which is exclusively manufactured in the Garment District of New York City. As an avid traveler, Katherine combines traditional Eastern influences with innovative Western sensibilities as well as her international exposure and social surroundings to achieve a refined and timeless aesthetic. She feels most rewarded when designing custom-made bridal and evening wear. “I believe that women look their best when dressed in timeless, well-fitted and comfortable works of art.”
